Castiglion del Bosco

Montalcino

Castiglion del Bosco has stood in its current site for over 800 years. The Tuscan countryside in which the estate stands is a custodian of creation by farmers, architects, and artists - a guardian of a glorious past recognised as the pinnacle of artisanal excellence. The estate's history dates back to antiquity, with traces of its medieval past found in maps used by pilgrims in the second millennium, and through the castle itself - built around 1100 A.D. In subsequent years, the estate was home to noble Sienese families, bringing with them the illustrious art of Pietro Lorenzetti that can be admired in the small church in the heart of Castiglion del Bosco. Farming was always a mainstay, as seen in the stables, olive groves, farmed land, and vineyards.
